Dr. James B. Vahl, BSc, DC, ACSM, ACE, ART, CGT
Dr. James Vahl is a second generation Doctor of Chiropractic. After graduating from high school, he worked alongside his father as an Exercise & Rehabilitation Therapy Technician at the Vahl Chiropractic Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Center in Fort Myers, Fl. He later completed his undergraduate study at SDSU in the Pre Medical program where he majored in Biology (Molecular) and minored in Japanese. While at SDSU, in addition to being a researcher, he was the supervisor of the Research Laboratory and his team’s research was published in the prestigious Journal of Microbiological Methods1 and indexed by PubMed.gov. Upon graduation he worked as a DNA research supervisor at Applied Biosystems in the SF bay area.
During his study at SDSU Dr. Vahl also pursued further study in Exercise Science, Muscle and Exercise Physiology, Health and Fitness Program Design, Nutrition and Kinesiology to became certified by the American Council on Exercise and the American College of Sports Medicine as a Professional Health, Fitness and Wellness Specialist.
He later entered Post Graduate study at the world renowned Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa where he graduated top honors in class as Magna Cum Laude and as a Presidential Scholar.
Upon graduation from Palmer, Dr. Vahl has been a Clinical Doctor and Practitioner at the San Diego Laser & Decompression Center and Wellness One, The Center for Optimal Health, in Encinitas, CA.
Dr. Vahl has taken advanced post graduate studies becoming certified in Active Release Technique (ART) and Graston Soft Tissue Therapy, the preferred therapies used on Professional, Olympic, Collegiate and Iron Man athletes as well as low level laser training for several other types of soft tissue aches and painful injuries. He has also taken advanced post doctorial studies in Clinical Neurology, Clinical Biophysics and Biomechanics, and Motor Vehicle Head, Spinal and Extremity Trauma. With his desire to help and educate the public, he has written many articles that have been published in many different chiropractic journals.
Dr. Vahl is a member of the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine and the Foundation for Vertebral Subluxation.
He is married to Emi Vahl and has four children. His hobbies include activities with the family, martial arts including Kendo and Iaido, both Classical Japanese Samurai Sword Arts.
